HERE COMES A POINT IN HISTORY He is gone! The reality seems dawning on me that the cold hands of death has ferried the pillar and rallying point of our great party off our reach. There is an adage that a useful and purposeful three never last in the forest of life. Death took him away when we needed his erudition, sagacity and camaraderie most in PDP. Not until I met him, the aphorism that politics is a dirty game was a reality stamped by our environment. " If people say politics is dirty, we must commence its cleanliness" He was decency personified. Once he gives his commitment, there he goes. He is better a politician of other climes where decency, issues and virtue of dignity are celebrated. He gave to us all a platform that encouraged a display of our innate talents. His character lends encouragement to my commitment to politics of passion, compassion and inclussiveness. Even in disagreement, Dr Kokumo Agagu will give up on a balance of argument. As one of his local government chairmen, he gave us unlimited access to him and his policy direction. Oga was committed to economic rebirth for Ondo state. He was passionate about moving the state out of civil service economy. That accounted for his avowed commitment to the Olokola initiative and its commencement. He talked about our aquatic resources and its potentials. He was a thinker. What a great loss! Here comes a point in history that Dr Fredrick Kokumo Agagu, a teacher, distinguish member of academics, decent politician, former governor of Ondo State, statesman per excellence and the father of PDP departed our world this day- 13th of September, 2013.
