HERE IS THE UPDATE ON LARISSA FROM AMY REED - This is so awesome to read - grab a tissue first!: I dont even know where to start. Her first night with us was so far beyond what I expected! She was very stressed when we got her home in the afternoon. By evening she had relaxed enough to approach us and let us lay on the floor with her. She even fell asleep for a bit with her head on my arm. Stairs were a big challenge. She tackled them with an army crawl that would be hilarious if it werent such a sad situation. Going up was much easier than down. And much to our surprise she slept through the night! Today was full of discovery. She spent a LOT of time outside exploring the back yard. She loves to run laps around the perimeter. Just because she can. She is letting her guard down with us...we are able to pet her, scratch her ears, rub her back. I look forward to the day when she trusts us enough to give her a tummy rub. She loves Buddy (our cattle dog) more than anything else right now. They run, wrestle, and play together. She watches and learns from him. This evening, she discovered toys. She picked up a stuffed bone and tossed it in the air. That was wonderful to see! She seems to be pacing a little less...hopefully that is a sign she is settling in. She has a lot to learn about this great big world. If today is any indication, I know she is going to do awesome! We look forward to sharing her progress!
