HERES AN EXERCISE IN GOVERNMENT PROPAGANDA: what you do is, you wheel out some croney from a quango, say, the ESRI, with semi-authoritative sounding statements, to make reassuring comments about the way Ireland is managing the economy. You make sure they mention the need for more house building because you want your mates in construction to make a buck, you make comments as a presenter like now we are in a POST- austerity era- and thats a significant statement to make, you IGNORE THE NEW PROPERTY BUBBLE being created AGAIN (which the president referred to recently), you waffle on about nonsense about the UK economy doing ok probably, and the US too, and then LIE about unemployment dropping to 9.5% next year possibly (despite knowing the real figure is as weve posted below just under FORTY PERCENT according to EU stats!!!), then say that the PRIORITY IN THIS BUDGET IS INVESTMENT ie NOT TO REVERSE THE CUTS KILLING PATIENTS AND DAMAGING LIVES AND CAUSING HOMELESSNESS. and what then?? You have all that on this mornings newstalk,. And anything else?? Oh yes- you use the local radio stations like WLRFM to USE THE SELF SAME RECORDING to regurgitate the same message across the country. This morning. (but maybe all that is a just a nightmare- it COULDNT be true.....???!!)
