Amal Alamuddin may be the brainiest gal George Clooney has ever dated. Alamuddin got her English law degree at Oxford University, then continued her education at the NYU School of Law. She nabbed the Jack K. Katz Memorial award for her accomplishment in the field of law when her studies were done. She even spent a semester as a clerk for now-Supreme Court justice Sonia Sotomayor! She later was named to the litigation department of Sullivan & Cromwell in New York City, practicing both domestic and international law for three years. Alamuddin currently is a barrister in the U.K.s Doughty Street Chambers firm, specializing in international, criminal, human rights and extradition laws. Amal was born 3 February 1978 and is a London-based British-Lebanese lawyer. Ms. Alamuddin comes from a Druze background.She speaks English, Arabic and French fluently.(That can probably come in handy for Clooney when hes doing overseas press and needs a translator!) Her mother, Baria, 66, is the editor of the newspaper Al-Hayat and her father is a former professor of commercial sciences at the American University of Beirut. She has a sister, Tala, and two brothers Samer and Ziad. Alamuddins had some seriously high profile legal clients. Aside from being named to several United Nations commissions, bombshell listed WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange as a client and acts as an advisor to U.N. Security General Kofi Annan on relations in Syria. Alamuddin and Clooney have been seeing each other for quite a while already! The pair was first spotted together in October 2013, when Clooney reportedly poured on the charm. At the time, Clooney was also linked to a few other women, including model Monika Jakisic. He once denied all the dating rumors, but that changed after Alamuddin joined him at a Monuments Men screening at the White House. They just seemed very, very together. -- Venice city officials are closing a walkway fronting the picturesque Grand Canal on Monday to keep crowds away from George Clooneys wedding to human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin.The city on Thursday issued an order closing walkways accessing the 16th Century Cavalli Palace for at least two hours Monday, citing the George Clooney wedding. A city official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media, said city police requested the closure to prevent crowds from gathering and creating a safety risk. The official said such closures have taken place previously for both public and private events --
