HF Radio training On the 21 of May 2014, Some of the Vanuatu Red Cross Society staffs with the support of the French Red Cross have been on a HF Radio Training. HF stand for High Frequency and it is a materials that Vanuatu Red Cross use especially to communicate with Vanuatu Red Cross Branches and sub-Branches around Vanuatu in good times and in times of crisis to help the most vulnerable peoples/communities. The training helps some VRCS staff to understand how to use the materials to communicate. The instructor of the Training Mr. Rod Newell explain that they are different serial number to connect to different network, Special numbers are use during disaster assessment that will help for a fast response, He also explain some advantage and disadvantage of the materials and how to use it during times of disasters. The training is part of SOP (Standard Operation Plan) which will help Vanuatu Red Cross Capacity on Disaster Preparedness and rapid Disaster response. The next workshop will be in June.
