HH ORDERS UPND NOT TO INTERRUPT PF INFIGHTING EARLY CHRISTMAS FOR UPND Posted on September 15, 2013 by Editor in Featured, News, Politics // 4 CommentsUPND leader Hakainde Hichilema, obviously enjoying the infighting that has engulfed the ruling Patriotic Front, has instructed his party officials and supporters not to interrupt the fierce battles that threaten to tear the ruling party apart.According to sources, HH believes “Christmas might come early” as the PF has decided to chart a path of self-destruction with an ever growing faction led by Defence Minister Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba (GBM) gaining momentum in their fight to hound Secretary General Wynter Kabimba out of the party. In a tone reminiscent of the infamous Third Term Debate that engulfed and severely weakened the then ruling MMD in 2001, the PF has engaged itself in a fierce internal debate over the endorsement of President Michael Sata as sole candidate for the 2016 presidential elections, which is 3 years away. However, the debate has quickly taken a new twist with the GBM group calling for the dismissal of Kabimba, who many see as the architect of the PF electoral victory of 2011.Now the UPND hopes to cash-in on the PF woes, and are reported to be urging GBM on. Our source says Hichilema believes Kabimba remains his biggest threat to his 2016 presidential bid should President Sata choose not to re-contest.“HH seems so sure President Sata might decide not to run for a second term, but he believes if PF went with Kabimba into the elections, he’ll have no chance because Kabimba may tear through his hold in the Bantu Botatwe regions and Western and North Western Provinces, apart from securing votes in the PF strongholds of Copperbelt, Lusaka, Northern, Muchinga and Luapula provinces,” says the source. The source adds that this is the reason Hichilema is on the side of GBM and wastes no opportunity to attack Kabimba. The UPND leader wants his party to fuel rather than try to stop the raging fires in the PF. 2 0 6 8 - See more at: source4zambia/?p=356#sthash.OTuvOTkh.k2ErTXhq.dpuf
