HI F1 Fans, Linda here, I have always liked Bernie Ecclestone, he has done a tremendous amount of work for Formula 1 over the years, and regardless of what many may think of him now he has been the one who has driven this sport to the success it is, however I truly believe this 80 plus year old has finally lost the plot. Im not interested in tweeting, Facebook and whatever this nonsense is, Ecclestone explained in an interview with Campaign Asia-Pacific magazine. I tried to find out but in any case Im too old-fashioned. I couldnt see any value in it. And, I dont know what the so-called young generation of today really wants. What is it? You ask a 15 or 16-year-old kid, What do you want? and they dont know. The challenge is getting the audience in the first place. Id rather get to the 70-year-old guy whos got plenty of cash. So, theres no point trying to reach these kids because they wont buy any of the products here and if marketers are aiming at this audience, then maybe they should advertise with Disney. Mr Ecclestone I was once that 15 year old watching Formula 1, and some 30 odd years later I am still watching it, I have attended Grand Prixs, I have brought the merchandise, I may not of done that when I was 15 but I was keeping your television audience figures up by watching back then. You need to embrace Facebook, Twitter and any other kind of social media because thats how young and old get their information these days, not shun it all because your old-fashioned. Bernie its time to consider retirement, let someone else take the reins, and stop trying to chase the money and listen to what the fans truly want, the young and the old. Linda
