HI GUYS. THIS POST IS VERY CLOSE TO MY HEART I was lucky enough to be the one who adopted Sherman to Nicole over 12 months ago.. This is a very genuine heartbreaking request for help..Any of our supporters who may know someone living either Gold Coast region or Brisbane area could you please please share for us Nicole has her story underneath so please read and share to help her Shermy get temporary accommodation. It is not permanent as Nicole loves Sherman so much that this is her last resort... I am unfortunately having to look for a temporary foster home for my furchild Sherman. He will be 4 years old on the 21st of January and is an English Staffy. I adopted him from Blacktown Pound in March 2013 and got him transported to the Gold Coast. He is very dog friendly - my sisters dog was living with us for a few months and they were perfect together, if were at the beach he shows no interest in other dogs at all unless they approach and he has never been aggressive. I have trained him to walk off the lead, he has never once dug a hole or chewed any belongings in the time weve had him nor has he ever barked. 2 months ago I moved in with my partner and his parents as I could no longer stay with my Mum - where I am now is directly next to a highway and they have no enclosed fence from the back to the open front yard (my parents in law also dislike dogs...no idea how) in that time Sherman has stayed with my mum until she ended up in hospital. He was able to stay with friends for 3 weeks until they went interstate, luckily my Mum had just gotten out so Sherman was able to go to her until she suddenly had to go back. I have no one that is willing to look after him for me, I have tried for nearly a month now but everyone lives in units or doesnt like dogs. I can not afford kennelling or a dog sitter as I am on a disability pension and 6 weeks ago got diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer - specialists and medications are currently drowning me financially. I am hoping someone could help me for 8 - 12 weeks, I know it is a lot to ask but my dog is honestly my best friend and the thought of having to rehome him permanently breaks my heart. I will pay for food and everything and he has bowls, leads, collars and a bed. I need a bit of time to raise funds to be able to move out and as soon as I can I will take him back.
