The Level 1 Service Desk Agent’s primary responsibility will be to provide technical assistance to end-users, including the following: • Supporting computer systems, hardware and software and related peripherals. • Responding to inbound technical service requests and issues over the phone, email and chat. • Installing, configuring, operating and troubleshooting for computer software via remote management tools • Guiding end-users with installation, configuration, operation and troubleshooting for computer hardware such as memory, hard disk drives, motherboards, routers, printers, mice, tablets, mobile devices • Researching and resolving technical problems with LANs, Wi-Fi • Using internal/external knowledgebase articles • Contributing to the development of service desk processes and procedures related experience in a technical helpdesk environment • Competency in: o Basic ticket management system operation o Basic customer data management operation (MS Access, PBA) o Basic configuration and troubleshooting of computer hardware o Basic configuration and troubleshooting of computer networking such as modems and routers o Basic configuration, operation and troubleshooting Windows, Macintosh and Linux OSs o Basic configuration, operation and troubleshooting of Windows, Macintosh and Android based tablets o Basic configuration, operation and troubleshooting of iPhone, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, Android and other mobile devices o Basic understanding of related terminology and concepts, including but not limited to: POP3/IMAP, Exchange, BES, ActiveSync, FTP, RDP, VPNs o Basic anti-spam, antivirus and other security applications o Basic Data recovery operation and troubleshooting • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Must be able to work effectively under pressure, either independently or as a member of a team • Previous remote desktop support knowledge an asset • Previous mobile device support knowledge an asset
