HIDRIA SPACEFOLK TO PLAY OFF THE TRACKS – AFTER OZRIC TENTACLES ARE FORCED TO PULL OUT Off The Tracks are delighted to announce that the fabulous Hidria Spacefolk will headline the festival on Saturday night. The surprise line-up change came about when Ozric Tentacles – due to top Saturday’s bill – were forced to pull out after a recent series of unfortunate events. But, splendid people that they are, the Ozrics have helped us line up one of their favourite bands to fill the slot – HIDRIA SPACEFOLK. And everyone at Off the Tracks, while gutted at missing the Ozrics, is thrilled to welcome Hidria – a Finnish folk-influenced psychedelic rock band. https://youtube/watch?v=KIxH4MEQcX8 https://youtube/watch?v=nqAxsfxAYQo The groups sound is often compared to Ozric Tentacles. Their genre-crossing music encompasses driving bass, synth bubbles, super-tight drums, guitars, techno and prog rock. The band themselves call their style of music folky progressive psychedelic spacerock-trance. A bus breakdown, missed flights, visa complications and their agency closing – among other complications – left the Ozrics battling finish their new studio album for the end of the year, as promised. It’s only the third event they’ve had to cancel in their 30-year career. The Ozrics said: “Contrary to our desires, the band will unfortunately have to cancel their performance at this wonderful festival. We have spoken with some very good friends of ours to see if they can come to the rescue for us and provide you all with a performance we know you will love. Incredibly they have said yes, and now for the first time in the UK many of you will finally get a chance to catch Hidria Spacefolk. For those of you who are not familiar with their work, (and have already seen Ozrics 10 times or more) you’re in for a real treat. Hailing from Finland, Hidria has for a long time been one of our favourite acts to perform with, work with, and listen to.” Andy and Boz, Off The Tracks organisers, said: “We’re really sad the Ozrics can’t make it this year but we’re really excited to bring the fabulous Hidria Spacefolk to the Off The Tracks audience, who we know will welcome them and their wonderful inventive music.” Hidria Spacefolk said: “It’s really exciting for us to play at Off The Tracks. Our friends the Ozrics have told us what a great festival it is. We can’t wait to see everyone there.” The Ozrics added: “Cancelling is not something we take lightly, and if there were an practical way to still make this happen we would by all means do it. We know that you want hear this studio album, and we really need to be able to complete it for you as quickly as possible, so we must, without further delay, return to Colorado so we can have this record for you for the fall tour, which starts September 24th in Christiania.” Off The Tracks is independent, friendly, relaxing, memorable, exciting, a place to escape and a place to meet new friends.
