HIGHER EVERYDAY. SUNDAY, MARCH 9, 2014. TOPIC: MAKE A MOVE Text: Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.” (Joshua 1:2) When you are inactive, basking in the joy of past successes or grieving over past failures, you waste the present, and shut the door on future progress. In the text above, God had to remind Joshua that Moses had died and that life must go on. Are you sorrowing over the death of a dear one? It is time to wipe off your tears, and move on. Possibly, in Joshua’s mind, the great image of Moses was still looming before him. He must have felt intimidated. Although called and anointed by God, he seemed to be waiting for a special event to occur before moving forward to the Promised Land with his people. Is that like you? Has God has given you a vision which you are not running with yet? You have finished high school, why are you slack in going to the tertiary? Are you born again? Sanctification and Holy Ghost baptism are still there. God promised to give success and victory to Joshua as he took the steps of faith and He fulfilled it. For you, the time to act is now. Challenge: Living in the past ruins the present and future. Prayer: Lord, give me grace to move forward. Further Reading: Matthew 2:19-23
