HIGHER EVERYDAY WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 21, 2013 FIRE OF FAITH “Wherefore glorify ye the LORD in the fires, even the name of the LORD God of Israel in the isles of the sea” (Isaiah 24:15) It is quite easy to profess Christ when everything is going on smoothly. Can you still trust God when there are challenges? Will your fire of faith still glow in the face of persecution or danger? Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego dared the fiery furnace set by Nebuchadnezzar because of their refusal to bow to his idol. Paul and Silas were ruthlessly beaten, cast into the prison and yet they praised God. The testimonies of these audacious saints truly glorified the Lord. You are expected to glorify the Lord even when you are facing difficulties. The devil wants you to compromise your faith. He wants you to cheat in examinations, live immoral life, disobey the word of God, or rebel against constituted authorities; but you must never give in to him. Whatever the devil may say or whatever tactic he may use, it is important for you to remember the word of God. You should not be afraid of harassment from man. You should rather fear God than man. God did not disappoint the saints of old; He will not disappoint you in Jesus name. Challenge: Prepare to incur the world’s hatred as long as you love the Lord.
