On Wednesday Ngilu had threatened to unmask the persons behind companies involved in the saga, even if it meant her quiting office. In naming the Directors of Airport View Building Limited as being behind the Langata Road Primary School land dispute, most feel the minister fell short of public expectation that had greeted the controversy. Ngilu named Manjit Singh Amrit, Kamal Prakash, Harbans Singh and Mandip Singh as the directors of the company involved in the school land grab saga. Fielding questions from journalists , Ngilu said her only task was to reveal the directors of the company that had grabbed the school playground. She said the title deed issued to the company will be revoked. The 8.5 billion shillings 13 kilometer road which connects Thika road and Mombasa road will have a total of six lanes. While expressing satisfaction that the road project had commenced in the Eastlands where majority of Nairobi residents live, the President Emphasized his Government’s determination to take development projects to all parts of the country. He further said the construction of roads in Eastlands will accelerate development. The President asked road contractors to employ youth from the area. The association says the three media houses are arm-twisting the government into allowing them to have an unfair advantage over other players in the sector. The association also refuted claims by the three media houses to the effect that the government has handed the foreigners licenses to distribute local content. The association at the same time supported the Communication Authority’s move to investigate the three media houses cartel like anti competitive conduct. They urged the government to roll out the platform that has been hailed to have the potential of increasing job opportunities in the sector. The world has set the close of June 2015 as the deadline of full digital migration. Speaking during his cross examination of the witness, Kigen charged that Sang did not use his radio program to incite communities against each other as alleged by the witness, instead saying that his client was preaching messages of peace at the time prior, during and after the elections. Accompanied by hundreds of his supporters, Njenga told Kajiado County Security officers who had summoned him for questioning that he was a saved man and has stopped engaging in criminal activities. Rutto/tv SAUDIA DDDD JAN 23 Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz has died in hospital, royal officials have announced. A statement said his brother, Salman, had become king. King Abdullah, aged 90 years, had been in hospital for several weeks suffering from a lung infection. Abdullah came to the throne in 2005 but had suffered frequent bouts of ill health in recent years. US President Barack Obama expressed his personal sympathies and those of the American people, on the death of King Abdullah. Rutto/bbc YEMEN DDDD JAN 23 The president of Yemen has resigned along with his prime minister in protest at the takeover of the capital Sanaa by Shia Houthi rebels, creating a dangerous political vacuum. President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi said he could not continue after the Houthis failed to honour a peace deal. Parliament has reportedly refused to accept the resignations. Houthi rebel figures publicly welcomed the resignation of the president with one proposing the creation of a ruling council. The council would include Houthi-led groups, Abu al-Malek Yousef al-Fishi. The US, which is helping fight al-Qaeda militants in Yemen, said it was still assessing the implications of President Hadis move.
