HIGHLIGHTS FROM DEBORAH MILLS RARE PROGRAM MANAGER The RARE program has been full of adventure this month! We had a pizza party to celebrate improved math scores and each student enjoyed chocolates for the Valentine’s holiday. We also had speakers to talk to us about Black History Month. Our founder Ms. Lewis spoke to us about being a part of the March on Washington in 1963. Ms Curry, one of our RARE administrators shared the differences she experienced living in the north versus the south during segregated times. Mr. Lynnwood Campbell our special guest, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), retired manager in the field, and native Alexandrian, shared black history facts with students. The activities this month helped our wonderful children to become more well rounded informed productive citizens. As we are halfway through the school year ,it is great to report that students are improving fundamental math skills, growing in maturity, and social awareness. RARE February Newsletter.
