HIGHWAY 99W CLOSED IN LAFAYETTE FOR MORE THAN AN HOUR FOR NATURAL GAS LEAK Highway 99w in LaFayette was closed for about an hour early this afternoon starting at 10am Friday after an excavator dug into a natural gas line in front of the Roadhouse Bar. Traffic was blocked from about ten am to just before noon as Northwest Natural Gas responded to turn off the gas and repair the line. There was no fire or explosion and traffic was allowed to resume just before noon. A LaFayette resident has provided pictures of the emergency response. Residents said the smell of natural gas was strong near the area during the incident.
