HILLSIDE HELPS-““FEAR NOT; FOR I AM WITH THEE; BE NOT DISMAYED; FOR I AM THY GOD: I WILL STRENGTHEN THEE; YEA, I WILL HELP THEE; YEA, I WILL UPHOLD THEE WITH THE RIGHT HAND OF MY RIGHTEOUSNESS” (Isaiah 41:10) There is an exchange or trade I want to talk about today. Based on many years of study and research, it is, no doubt the greatest deal in the entire world. No, I am not talking about money, property, or some “get rich quick idea”. I am going to show you in the WORD OF GOD, the “deal of a lifetime”. It will be upfront, honest, and true. The Lord is willing to trade our fears for His fellowship. “Fear thou not; for I am with thee”. We have many fear sin life: the fear of death, fear of failure, fear of losing security, or fear of the future. These represent only four of many. Child of God, you don’t have to be afraid of anything, for the Lord is ever with you all times. When we put our trust in Him, we are delivered from fears of all kinds. The Lord is also willing to trade our confusion for His comfort. “be not dismayed; for I am with your God.” There are times when nothing seems to make sense anymore. Life was once a blessing filled with joy and comfort, but due to a radical change in circumstances, life has become a burden. Our courage is depleted and our hearts filled with despair. Our God can swap that out with His promised comfort. The Lord is willing to trade our weakness for His strength. “I will strengthen thee”. We are weak, but He is always strong. Issues in life drain us of the energy we need to carry on. Spiritually we are weakened by sin, lack of fellowship with God and His saints, and failure to pray and study God’s Word. If this is your condition this morning, go ahead and take the trade. God will give you a renewed strength to carry on. The Lord is willing to trade our helplessness for His help. “ I will help thee”. God knows we all need help. He offers us help through the Holy Spirit, who is our ever present Helper. He will help us to understand circumstances and help us get over or through them. He will help us pray, serve, worship, and remain faithful. If you are feeling a sense of helplessness today, God will replace your helplessness with His help, if you will ask and trust Him. The Lord is willing to trade our independence for a full dependence upon Him. “I will uphold thee”. To many of you are trying to hold on when you should be trusting God promise to uphold you. A lot of frustration comes when we try to do what God promises to do for us. Finally, God is willing to trade our rags for His righteousness. “ with the hand of thy righteousness”. In Isaiah 64:6, “…all our righteousness is as filthy rags.” Apart from God all we have are rags of unrighteousness. They are filthy and unclean. We have no access to God except through Jesus who is our righteousness. Thanks be to God that. “…he hath him to be sin, who knew no sin; that we may be made the righteousness of God in Him.” When come to Christ, fully trusting in His finished work on the cross, and having the blood of our Savior as the covering for sin, God declares us righteous. If today you don’t know the peace of God, depart from sin and trust in the Son of Righteousness. (Bro Jerry)
