HIRING BALINESE STAFF IS ENOUGH TO TRY THE PATIENCE OF A - TopicsExpress

HIRING BALINESE STAFF IS ENOUGH TO TRY THE PATIENCE OF A SAINT. Before anyone expends the effort to attack me, (which seems the normal modus operandi Ive noticed on Ubud Community) let me relate this sad narrative. I have tried hiring some Balinese staff for my villa. 1. The new poolman failed to come on his first visit, not even bothering to notify me. He came the following day, 2 hours after the agreed start time. 2. The new gardener texted me the night before he was scheduled to start ( having accepted the job 5 days earlier) to ask for a pay rise! 3. The security man hasnt turned up on the first night, and no text message has come yet. This is the man who pleaded with me for the job as he needed the money. Now how can I be at fault? I no doubt am as it will doubtlessly be pointed out to me by some *expert expat who sees all Balinese as faultless.
