HIS ANXIETY IS BACK...Today a friend of mine called to inform me that his anxiety attacks are once again upon him. Several years ago, from 2007-2009, each day for two years straight, he would call to talk to me in order that I might assist him in quelling his fears. He has been diagnosed as being Bipolar. Medication did not help him in his quest for inner peace. At times he was suicidal. Finally, after two years of counseling, his fears subsided and he returned to some semblance of normalcy. However, he did little to change his mind concerning those he hate with a fervent passion. He even accused me of being an Oriel Cookie because I did not share his intense antipathy towards those he felt I should hate even as he hated. He quit calling and fell from my awareness. Well, today he called. I once again counseled him to release himself from his demons of hatred caused by a past that is no more. He fail to understand that hatred harms no one but he who is foolish enough to entertain this vile emotion. We spoke for several hours. When I hung up the phone I was completely drained. There is to be no repeat. Each is totally responsible for their own happiness. Though I love him with all of my heart, I have finally learned that words do not teach. LOVE is the healing balm for all that ails the soul. He has yet to learn this TRUTH. Hopefully, this time around he will embrace it for his own sake. Selah. ~PA~.
