HISTORY: In Nepal, we have different regions with higher altitudes away from the main coffee growing Capricorn and cancer belts (26•N 27•N latitude) with dry and chilling cold climate of the world farm 1000 to 1600 m altitude only. Arabica variety is grown in Nepal with special quality as good as maxican & El Salvadoran. Coffee entered in Nepal in the district of gulmi via Burma in the year 1938. It remained as garden plant till late 1970s. PALPA madam pokhara stood the 1st to plant coffee in 1979 and its commercial scale plantation started only since 1982 offering an Agro-forestry model attracting many national and international visitors. They, it extended to other villages and districts of Nepal. Nepal organic coffee products initiated the processing of home made organic filter coffee since 1989 with its own farm in cooperation with community farming and cooperatives.
