HISTORY LESSON (may or may not make sense) After Ottomans - TopicsExpress

HISTORY LESSON (may or may not make sense) After Ottomans Empire (Turks) was defeated in early 1920s, that is after the World War I. The region of Palestine (100%) was placed under the control of the British, and was known as the Palestine Mandate. Later it was divided into two parts, the bigger part (about 80%) were given to Arabs and subsequently known as Jordan. The remaining smaller part (about 20%) was to be shared by the Jews and stateless Arabs (no such thing as Palestinians) who refuse to migrate to Jordan. So far you got it? In late 1940s, UN drafted a partition plan for Jews and stateless Arabs to co-exist in that smaller part. The stateless Arabs got the West Bank and Gaza, The Jews got / created Israel. However, the Arab nations in the Middle East were not happy to have Jewish state there and attacked Israel hundreds of times. Since then until now, there is no peace. If there is no intervention from Arabian nations, Gaza and West Bank would have become peaceful states of Palestine! Right?
