HIT BY A CAR AND LEFT TO DIE ALL ALONE AT THE SIDE OF THE ROAD… I am a one year old girl and I am a street dog of Thailand. Born without an owner to care for me, every day of my short life has been a fight to survive. I thought I’d lost the fight the day I was hit by a car and left to die at the side of the road. My name is Yoki and this is my story. The car accident damaged my back right leg very badly. I lay there, all alone and in agonising pain. I was petrified of the speeding traffic I could hear racing past me. Suddenly, one of those cars stopped. A man got out and knelt down beside me. I felt his arms wrap around me and he lifted me up and placed me in his truck. The man was Khun Thep, an Animal Rescue Officer with Soi Dog. He had saved me and I was no longer alone. Since being at the shelter, I am getting the wound on my back leg cleaned and treated every day. Dr. Jennifer is looking after me very well. I am trying to walk on my bad leg but right now, it still hurts. I hope I will get better soon. I am only able to tell you my story thanks to a special group of Soi Dog supporters called the Emergency Response Team. It is their monthly donations that meant I could be picked up and helped.
