HITTING LEAGUE COMPLETE – Last night was the final night of the 2nd Annual Hitting League (session I). This year we had three different divisions (Elementary, Junior High and High School). Congratulations to the Crushers who defeated Red Camo in the best of three championship series – missing from the picture is Matthew Hart – but pictured below is Ashton Davis, Lucas Swanson and Chance Greene. When the excitement ended from the Elementary finals the Junior High Finals began. The format was changes slightly for the JH division to a Individual Championship double elimination tournament with Quade Miller-Edwards taking on Alex Medrano, who suffered a first round loss and had to battle through three different opponents in the loser’s bracket to get to the championship game. Medrano used a 26 point last inning to win the Junior High Championship – Pictured are the final two of the Junior High Tournament, Quade Miller-Edwards and Alex Medrano. The last division of the night was the High School finals where the Beans used a strong first & last inning to come away with the championship over the Zoo – winning 169-166. Tanner Fallon led the way for the Beans with 64 points including the walk off “5” pointer in his last at bat. The league had players from six different high schools (Boulder Creek, Centennial, Millennium, Mountain Ridge, Valley Vista and Wickenburg). Next Hitting League (session II) begins January 6 at Diamond in the Rough in Goodyear.
