HMMMMM!!! POSTS FROM FRIENDS 1. WHAT IS WRONG WITH NIGERIA? Seriously, what is wrong with Nigeria? How can anyone sanction what took place at those immigration job test venues? Are we normal human beings? I learnt that each candidate at those venues paid N1, 000 each as recruitment fees! I weep. The walls are broken down. The demons are set loose. Did our forefathers commit heinous crimes on humanity? Were they cursed? Something is VERY wrong. How did we end up with insesitive people as leaders, intellectuals as arm chair critics and preachers as money fleecing merchants? Things have fallen apart. The center no longer holds. Mammon is the god. Values have gone to the dogs. Those young people who went for that test signify a desperate, lost generation with zero self esteem. They tell our story like no other. I weep for Nigeria. I PRAY FOR NIGERIA 2. IT IS NOT WELL!! Okay. I am sorry. I have to rant about this. If I hear one more person say, It is well WITHOUT DOING anything concrete for change when we get news of a national disaster such as the immigration recruitment disaster or the evil attacks and killings by Boko Haram and their ilk again, I will scream. IT IS NOT WELL! I know we think we are imitating a biblical heros faith...no we are not. Faith hears/sees evil and does something about it to bring a change...that is like seeing the poor man beaten up by the roadside and then walking past saying it is well in the story of the Good Samaritan. That is why Jesus prayed that Gods will be done on earth...who do we think will do Gods will? The people of faith! I am going to stop saying things such as it is well - right now, it is not well. It will be well one day - when Jesus comes...but right now, it is not. Let us get real and stop muttering these over- used platitudes our religious leaders have used to drug us into the worst complacency on the planet - we are simply smoking the opiate of religion - without taking righteous action for justice. So no. It is not well! Even Jesus, when he heard about Pilates injustice in Luke 13:1-3 called on the people to repent ... he did not say, It is well. It is not well. Especially if we do not repent. We will perish like our fellow Nigerians if we do not start doing what is right. The nasty violence will come and meet us where we are. So no, right now, it is not well! Ah ah! Kilode?! Let Us Pray: Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in Nigeria, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
