HMP FOSTON. EMERGENCY AMBULANCE blocked by traffic... Here is a typical tailback on the A50 at Foston. Access to the prison for emergency vehicles is already restricted as THERE IS ONLY ONE ACCESS ROAD IN OR OUT ... The delays are already bad , but by building a large factory unit and POTENTIALLY EXPLOSIVE gas storage facility within metres of the prison boundary are they not asking for trouble?. If this had been a fire engine , would the long delay mean the difference between life and death for someone ? WATCH THE VIDEO AND CONSIDER THE CONSEQUENCES, and be advised that this road is regularly blocked like this several times a week. Are Derbyshire planners going to add to this hazard by encouraging more traffic and gas tanks to a site that already has access problems for emergency vehicles? The Fire department were asked about this and they said it has not even been assessed, all they have to approve is that the access road is wide enough for a fire engine ... The highways agency were not aware of delays on this road..... Explosive methane gas + wooden structures + blocked dual carriageway+ a single point of access + 300 people locked in rooms = Potential Disaster. Its not rocket science...........
