HMS Caroline C-class light cruiser of the Royal Navy, showing her sea plane, at sea WW1. On of the oldest commissioned warships to see service in the Royal Navy and Royal Naval Reserve - 1914-2011, is now to be converted to a museum. HMS Caroline was commissioned in 1914 seen service throughout WW1 and as a HQ ship in WW2, before being used as a drill ship for Belfast Royal Naval Reserve. In October 2014, the Heritage Lottery Fund announced a £12 million lottery funding boost to enable the National Museum of the Royal Navy to turn Caroline into a visitor attraction in time for centenary commemorations of the 1916 Battle of Jutland.
