HOLLYWOODING THE BIBLE!! Ok, so I had been soooooo looking forward to seeing NOAH on the big screen. My level of anticipation had been so high, that Opening day was an absolute MUST for me... So I WENT. I wont give away any spoilers, but I will say, Hollywood took some SERIOUS liberties on this one!! I consider myself a voracious reader (and not just of the Bible). I realize that MOST movie adaptations of books, seldom are verbatim. Ive seen this done in the John Grisham series (Im a big fan of his novels), the Lemony Snicket movie (Title too long to repeat), the Color Purple, and others. Maybe its simply too hard to put to action ~ words found in a book... Maybe words just dont translate well to film. But this here movie, NOAH, was such a major deviation that it bordered on being sacrilegious. The interweaving of truth & fiction would probably be ok with anything OTHER THAN THE BIBLE, but here, it leaves my spirit man more disappointed than entertained. See it for yourself or wait for cable... Either way, Id love to hear your thoughts on the matter. Maybe Ive just been reading the wrong translation of the Bible... Yeah... Maybe thats it!
