On the way, stop by the town of Madaba, where you find the oldest map of Jerusalem on the floor of the Church of St George. Proceed to Mount Nebo, where you have a view of the Promised Land as the prophet Moses would have seen it. Dinner and overnight in Petra. Day 3. 23 FEB (SUN) (B/D) After a hearty breakfast, check out of the hotel and visit the magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Site, Petra, where you find the rock hewn Al Khazneh Treasury among others. Explore on horseback and take see the marvels of the city of the ancient Nabateans. Travel north to your hotel along the Dead Sea where you will have an unsinkable experience on the lowest place on earth. Dinner and overnight at the Dead Sea. Day 4. 24 FEB (MON) (B/D) Cross the border into Israel and meet your Israeli guide to take you to Jericho. Celebrate Mass the Good Shepherd Convent. Take the cable car to the Quarantal Monastery (Mount of Temptation) where a Greek Orthodox monastery was built in the 6th century over the cave where Christ stayed. On the way out of Jericho, stop by an ancient Sycamore Tree to remember the story of Zaccheus. Travel to Tiberias for dinner and overnight. Day 5. 25 FEB (TUE) (B/D) Early morning departure for Mount Tabor (Celebrate Mass). Take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee and visit the Church of St Peters House in Capernaum. Nearby at Tabgha, where you visit the Church of the Heptapegon (Seven Springs) is the site where the miracle of the loaves and fishes took place. At the Church of the Primacy of Peter, The church contains a projection of limestone rock in front of the present altar which is venerated as a Mensa Christi, Latin for table of Christ,the spot where Jesus is said to have laid out a breakfast of bread and fish for the Apostles, and told Peter to Feed my sheep after the miraculous catch. Reflect on the days events at the Mount of Beatitudes where the Sermon at the Mount was preached. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight. Day 6. 26 FEB (WED) (B/D) Departure from Tiberias for a couples renewal of vows at the Church at Cana, where the first miracle of turning water into wine was witnessed. Proceed to nearby Nazareth where you find the largest basilica in the Middle East is found, the Church of the Annunciation. Visit the workshop of St Joseph and the nearby Marys Well, the site where the angel Gabriel announced to the Virgin Mary that she would bear the Son of God. Continue on to the beautiful hanging gardens at Haifa before visiting the Stella Maris Church at Mount Carmel. (Celebrate Mass) Visit Caesarea along the Mediterranean Sea and view the ruins of this once magnificent city where the Apostle Paul was imprisoned. Arrive in Jerusalem in time for dinner and overnight. Day 7. 27 FEB (THU) (B/D) Visit the Church of the Pater Noster (Our Father) where Translations of the Lords Prayer from all over the world is posted on the walls including Tagalog and Hiligaynon. Proceed to the Church of the Ascension where the Lord ascended into heaven. Stop by the Mount of Olives to see a panoramic view of the city of Jerusalem. (Group photo opportunity). Walk the Palm Sunday Road and visit the Church of the Dominus Flevit, where the Lord wept over Jerusalem (Celebrate Mass). At the foot of the Mount is the Garden of Gethsemane, where the Lord prayed. A church commemorating the event is the Church of All Nations. Proceed to Bethlehem, the town where the Lord was born and visit the Church of the Nativity and sing Christmas carols at the Franciscan chapel of the Shepherds Fields. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight. Day 8. 28 FEB (FRI) (B/D) Visit the Temple Mount and see the Dome of the Rock. Proceed to the Via Dolorosa or the Way of Suffering to do the Stations of The Cross, starting from the Church of the Flagellation. On to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre where Stations 10-14 may be found. (Celebrate Mass). Proceed to Mount Zion through the Cardo where the Upper Room of the Lords Supper is remembered. It is also in Mount Zion that you will find the Dormition Abbey and the Tomb of the Virgin Mary. Proceed to the Church of St Peter of Gallicantu where Peter denied the Lord three times before the Rooster crowed. At the Church we find the dungeons where the Lord may have been suffered under Caiphas. Visit the Western (Wailing) Wall, the holiest site of the Jews. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight. Day 9. 01 MAR (SAT) (B/D) Visit the Yad Vashem Museum of the Holocaust. Proceed to En Karem to visit the Church of St John and the Visitation Church, where Elizabeth was visited by her cousin Mary when they were both pregnant. Proceed to the Baptismal site along the Jordan River at Qasr Al Yahud, the place where geographically, Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist.Return to hotel for dinner and overnight. Day 10. 02 MAR SUN) (B/D) Travel South to Massada and take a cable car to the top of the summer fortress of Herod the great. Proceed to Eilat and visit the Qumram where Dead sea scrolls were found. Cross the Taba border into Egypt and check into hotel for dinner and overnight. Day 11. 03 MAR (MON) (B/D) Early morning ascent to Mt. Sinai to witness the sunrise at the peak. Descend and visit the Burning Bush at St Catherine Monastery. then travel to Cairo. Upon arrival in Cairo, check into hotel for dinner and overnight. Day 12. 04 MAR (TUE) (B/D) Visit the Great Pyramids of Giza, including the Sphinx. Proceed to the Egyptian Museum where 5000 years of history are kept including the treasures of King Tutankhamon and the mummies. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight. Day 13. 05 MAR (WED) (B) Check out of the hotel to Celebrate mass at a local chapel. Visit OLD CAIRO, at Abu Serga, where the Holy Family hid during their escape from Bethlehem. Proceed to the Hanging Church and Monastery of St. George before proceeding to airport for flight to Manila. Check in and departure.
