HOLY MACKEREL! It was a beautiful Saturday in Tampa Bay as I participated in the 8th Annual Generations Christian Church Mens Fishing Tournament. We fished the pier off the famed Sunshine Skyway Bridge in St. Petersburg. Our quarry was the Spanish Mackerel and we caught several as well as other species. The winning fish weighed four pounds and five ounces. We returned to the church where the fish were prepared along with pulled pork, potato salad, baked beans, Cole slaw and a delicious cake for desert. This is a fairly large church averaging around 2,500 each weekend and it was a good opportunity for me to meet some of the men of the church. I had a great day and caught my first blue runner.
