HOLY SATURDAY REFLECTION: This Holy Week, Pope Francis visited a rehabilitation center to wash and kiss the feet of 12 sick and disabled people. The Holy Fathers visit left some shaking in their wheelchairs. In his Apostolic Exhortation Evangelii Gaudium, Pope Francis boldly proclaimed, Sometimes we are tempted to be that kind of Christian who keeps the Lords wounds at arms length. Yet Jesus wants us to touch human misery, to touch the suffering flesh of others. He hopes that we will stop looking for those personal or communal niches which shelter us from the maelstrom of human misfortune and instead enter into the reality of other peoples lives and know the power of tenderness. Whenever we do so, our lives become wonderfully complicated and we experience intensely what it is to be a people, to be part of a people. TODAYS CHALLENGE: As our Lenten journey comes to a close, ask yourself today what you can do BEYOND this season of Lent to better be the hands and feet of Jesus. How can you love those around you suffering the most? Lord Jesus, help us to love how you have loved. #lovemore #HolySaturday #SteubenvilleConferences bit.ly/1llLCj7
