HOMAGE TO ANGELINAH SOBE Commenced service at Sheriff 7 APRIL 1982 Passed away: 29 May 2013 Term of service: 31 years It is with sadness that I address you this morning and pay my last respect to Angie, as she was known to us at the office I extend my sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Angie I was shocked when a lady, Thelma, called at our offices personally last week WEDNESDAY to advise us that Angie has collapsed in the bus on her way to the office. I immediately accompanied Thelma and a staff member to the New Brighton SAPS Mortuary. We met her husband and other family. All of us in a state of shock I knew Angie for the last 31 years. Angie was first employed at our office in APRIL 1982, at Harmonie Building, across the road from Africa House. We moved to the Danellyn Building in 1990 and Angie continued to work with us. How will we as staff members of the sheriff PORT ELIZABETH NORTH remember her? Let me share some of our thoughts. I will remember Angie as a quiet person, who served the OFFICE of the SHERIFF with pride, treated all persons fair and provided us with the best possible service. Angie dedicated a great deal of her time and life to our office in the last 31 years. If we had any trouble to convey a message to the isiXhosa speaking public, we would call on Angie to act as our isiXhosa interpreter and she always agreed to assist without any hesitation. We lost a valuable staff member; we lost our housekeeper and a friend. Everyone respected Angie at the office, including the members of the public, and we were blessed to have someone like her at our office for the past 31years. I thank the family for allowing her to spend all these years with us, her SHERIFF FAMILY Angie always respected my privacy and would come to me with a request to leave door of my office unlocked during lunch times, to enable her to neaten up and clean my office, whilst I was on lunch. This was the Angie I learnt to know 31 years ago; A very considerate person. I pray that GOD will assist you as the family to ease the pain and loss of her untimely passing away We as staff, and I believe you as family, are already looking forward to the day when we will meet Angie again Rest in peace our colleague and friend. Lalla ngoxolo mhlobo nekholiki yethu I thank the family for affording me the opportunity to be part of this memorial service for Angie. Llewellyn Sharp Sheriff
