HOME WITH THE FAMILY......... Daddy! Come and see two big chickens in our kitchen...theyre very big! He said, his eyes almost popping out of the sockets. I too busy to reply on time. Too busy sand papering the fibre glass sculptures I needed to deliver as late as 8 p.m tonight in V. I. .. (Victoria Island.)... Daddy please, come...!... dragging my tired fat short fingers, I went upstairs. His younger sister Erica-Esther was as amazed as Eric, she was hiding behind the sofa... clutching her doll DORA.... theyre so big said Esther almost in a whispering tone. Come help me hold the chicken, we need to prepare them against tomorrow. Now, I might pose as a macho on Facebook. .. Ive done things Im not too proud about as a youngster... killing chickens was one if them... but these ones? Hell NO! I feel too sorry for these chicks I cant stand their cries... Their bloods, no way. I actually chickened off. My wife had to call a little friend of ours to assist. I must confess, Im not trying to grandstand. . Not in chicken cases... but in all honesty, some things have taken over me in my older years. I hardly stand some things... including injustice to chickens. Lol. But I dont shy away from eating nice barbecued ones...garnished with hot chilli source... watered down with cold chilling soda... preferably Fanta. Mmmm. Anyways... I want back to work only to be told Eric assisted with the preparation for the birds. Climbing the flight of stairs saw me inhaling the sweet fragrance of fried hot chickens! The Stew is being prepared and I could only salivate and quietly become very thankful that the family stayed to serve Christmas with me this time around... unlike last year when I burnt every thing my wife prepared before traveling for the holidays with the kids...leaving me alone to eat soaked garri and suya almost daily till they returned. The reason for this season is love, care and family. Most of all, the birth of Christ even though I dont accept the date. I am happy to see the kids enjoy the little life has provided. Im happy and grateful for the little family we are and that by God, well expand as we grow older by the day, weeks, months and years. Its not our strength but Gods good grace. To all, I wish you all the best. .. to all our families HERE IS A MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM OUR HEARTS... IN OUR OWN LITTLE WAY, WE PRAY NEXT YEAR ALL OUR TROUBLES WILL BE OUT OF SIGHT IN JESUS NAME. AMEN.
