HOMELESS ADVOCATE NOT ARRESTED BY BSO The story of 90-year-old Arnold Abbott and his feeding program for the homeless in downtown Fort Lauderdale has received national attention in recent days. First, the police agency involved was NOT the Broward Sheriff’s Office. Rather, it is the city’s police department being directed to enforce the city commission’s newly adopted ordinance. Second, Sheriff Israel and #BSO practice and promote a different approach to help the homeless community.
