HOPE IN THE LORD! Lord, I am in great trouble, so I call out to - TopicsExpress

HOPE IN THE LORD! Lord, I am in great trouble, so I call out to you. Lord, hear my voice; listen to my prayer for help. Lord, if you punished people for all their sins, no one would be left, Lord. But you forgive us, so you are respected. I wait for the Lord to help me, and I trust his word. I wait for the Lord to help me more than night watchmen wait for the dawn, more than night watchmen wait for the dawn. People of Israel, put your hope in the Lord because he is loving and able to save. He will save Israel from all their sins. (Psalm 130 NCV) Two things simple things stand out in this Psalm. First, when David was in trouble the first thing he did was call out to God. He poured out his heart to the Lord and second, he waited for the Lord to respond. And he did not wait in vain, he waiting with purpose and expectation. David’s hope was not a “wish” as in “I hope God responds to my prayer” but a knowing that God would help him and not delay. David was as sure of God’s faithfulness as the sun coming up every morning. Too many times we just “wish” God would do something. But wishing will never accomplish anything because God responds to faith. If your faith has wained or your hope has been misplaced then allow the Lord to reassure you that He is greater than our doubts and fears. Simply, “Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you… Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for him to act.” (Psalm 37:5-7 NLT)
