HOPELESS VETERANS written by Plumas, El Madrigal As the drums - TopicsExpress

HOPELESS VETERANS written by Plumas, El Madrigal As the drums of war begin, the sun rises, and my eyes open. As the day breaks, helicopter blades smash, through the heavens, and our cloud 9 disappears. So I go searching, for a heart filled with hope, but uninviting sounds arrive, and clog my pours. Vanity, bigotry, xenophobia, greed, hate, war, homeless Vets, envy, and jealousy surround me, meanwhile my pockets, remain empty. Here I go again, walking out of myself, humbling myself, walking, through this poetic desert, walking, without sleep. As my feet touch the concrete, shadows follow me, shadows, that are filled with graves, crosses, & P.T.S.D. Here I go again, searching for love, searching for hope, searching for peace, all the while, in the corner, the Great Spirit finds me. Here I go again, searching to fill my soul, to make us one, to become whole, meanwhile father sky, and mother earth watch ... Mitakuye Oyasin, empathy. Here I go again, looking for something soft & lovely looking, for someone, that will hold me, but all I find, is judgement, and passive aggressive behavior. Here I go again, walking the walk of warriors, walking amongst US Veterans, walking through cemeterys, walking, through the valleys of the shadow of death.
