HORRIFYING. I just got this email and am appalled that a vet would suggest this. Dilemma: our DVM strongly recommends declawing front claws of cats due to infection from unintended scratches. Scratches can be particularly risky for young children, elderly and allergic persons. (Especially those with compromised immune systems of which my dear brother does have.) Vet claims the most advanced lazer method has no ill effects beyond managed discomfort 5 days max. following procedure.
