HOSANNA / THANKSGIVING / DEDICATION SERVICE UNDERSTANDING THE MIRACLE POWER OF PRAISE (PART 5a) FOCUS: YOU CAN CONQUER YOUR TOUGHEST BATTLE THROUGH PRAISE BY PASTOR PAUL THOMPSON INTRODUCTION Praise is a medium through which we transfer all our battles to God. Battles in life are not imaginary. They are real. And our battle is not with flesh and blood. Our battles are with principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world and spiritual wickedness in high places - all the forces that operate in the spiritual realm. Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Some of the toughest battles in scriptures were won by praise. Exodus 15:11 Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? Praise warfare is very important in securing supernatural breakthrough in battle. Psalms 149:1-4 Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints. Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation. Praise is the ultimate weapon in spiritual warfare. Matt 6:9-15, 2 Chron 20:3-24 Psalms 67:5-7 Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him. TESTIMONIES OF THE TRIUMPHS OF PRAISE Amongst the testimonies of the triumphs of praise is the testimony of how the Red Sea parted ways to the right and left at the presence of the Most High God Exodus 14:13-15 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward: 2 Chronicles 20:17 Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you. Exodus 15:20-21 And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the Lord, for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea. Further Reading: Ps 114:1-8 Your testimony is the next!
