HOST A CHOCOLATE PARTY WITH CHACAU CHOCOLATIER Enjoying high quality chocolate is an experience like no other. 10 STEP TO CHOCOLATE TESTING PARTY WITH CHACAU CHOCOLATIER!!! 1 Schedule the chocolate party tasting for mid-afternoon or mid-evening. You want it to be after people have eaten and feel satisfied, but before they actually feel hungry for the next meal. 2 Choose your guests. 3 Choose a location. Find a location free from background noise and smell, such as television, music, a crying baby, road traffic noise, etc. Being able to concentrate as intently as possible will facilitate flavor detection. 4 Allow the chocolate to rest at room temperature before tasting. Cold temperatures will hinder your ability to detect the flavors. Some even advise that you rub the chocolate briefly between your fingers to coax the flavor. You can choose chocolate to pair with wine. 6 Purchase enough chocolate for everyone to taste. There should be enough for each of your guests. 7 Create a sheet for notes. It should look like a spreadsheet, with columns for aroma, flavor, texture, finish, and the chocolates youve chosen listed on the left. Make copies and have them ready for your guests, along with pens or pencils. If some chocolates are sweeter than others, be sure to have your guests taste the sweetest ones last. 8 Set up a table with each chocolate on its own plate. If you want to be extra fancy, get a nice table clothes and decorations for you tables. Be sure people have a way to know which chocolate theyre tasting. If, however, you dont want your guests to know which chocolate theyre tasting - like if you dont want their perceptions of a certain flavors to taint their opinion, or you want to see if people taste the difference in the different flavor, use generic labels like Chocolate 1 and reveal what they are later. NOTE: You must know if you have people with some type of food allergies to do this. 9 Provide a palate cleanser, such as plain bread or crackers. Also provide water and napkins. This means that your mouth should not contain residual flavors from a previous meal. Eat a wedge of apple or piece of bread if necessary. This is crucial in order to taste the subtleties of chocolates complex flavor.
