HOT WEATHER HAZARDS AND TIPS FOR KEEPING YOUR PETS SAFE: -Walk pets early in the morning or late in the day to avoid extreme heat which can be dangerous for all pets, particularly very young pets and senior pets. -Keep pets indoors during the extreme heat of midday and make certain they have fresh water available at all times. -Try not to walk pets on hot asphalt and concrete as the pads of their feet can be injured from excess heat. -Do not leave pets in a car unless you are in it and the air conditioning is on. People still seem to think it is okay to leave their pets in vehicles if they park in the shade and crack the windows—it’s never safe in the summer heat.
