HOUSE FIRE Dear Friends and Family, We had a fire yesterday that essentially destroyed our house and all of our possessions, along with the adjacent townhouse next door. No one was hurt. About 4:15pm yesterday afternoon, Rachael was in her room on the third floor and I was napping in a chair in the basement. Mary was at a Dr appointment. I went to sleep in the chair about 4:00 and I heard glass breaking upstairs and it woke me up. I went up to see what broke and saw it was the sliding glass door on the back deck, and I could see flames on the back deck with glass falling out of the door from the heat. There was not yet any smoke inside the house. I yelled at Rachael to come downstairs, while running to the kitchen for our small fire extinguisher. Running back toward the deck, I remembered that our propane grill was right where the fire was, so we ran out of the front door. We notified the neighbors and called the fire department. The Fire Marshal said it was caused by a low level electrical fire in some wires outside the house. Maybe the phone wire box. At the peak, we had 18 fire trucks on site with over 100 fire and rescue workers. If it had started at 4:00am, rather than 4:00pm, we would have probably been with The Lord. Every thing works together for good, to them that love The Lord Rom 8:28 Our phones and my laptop were fried.
