HOUSTON, TX- Hey dog lovers, we are asking for help for 3 dachshunds who have lost their beloved owner. They are going to need loving homes by the end of the month to prevent them from going to one of the high kill shelters in Houston. With our intake still closed, we have offered to help by getting the word out, checking references & doing a home check for adoption or to an approved rescue (will have to provide transportation if out of state). Please help by sharing or opening your home to one of them if you can. For an application and further information, please send us a direct email to texastailwagglerescue@outlook or contact Lynda (936) 718-0846 THIS IS PART OF THE EMAIL WE RECEIVED: I am seeking assistance for three sweet Dachshunds whose owner passed away this year. They are wonderful dogs who have been always been loved and well cared for. The challenge is the owner was elderly and does not have family who can provide a home for these dogs now that he is gone. I have tried several rescue organizations in Houston, Texas due to the large number of homeless pets, I have not been successful in placing them (yet). Below are the specifics on each dog: Bosley is 10 years old. He is a bit over-weight but healthy and has a pretty red brown color. He has been neutered. He is a bit shy at first but given the fact that he lost his owner, I am sure he is very confused. He is a sweet boy for sure. Cookie 10 years old. She is Bosleys sister. She is also a bit over-weight and has the same red/brown coat as her brother. She is very sweet and has been spayed. Ginger is 6 years old. She is super duper sweet and a beautiful example of a Dachshund. Her weight is perfect and she is very friendly. Unfortunately, Ginger is not spayed. All three dogs are located in Houston, Texas and have always lived inside and are house trained, current on vaccinations, and on heart worm meds. I have written permission from the estate executor to help place these dogs. I understand the two older ones may be a bit difficult to place due to their age, but besides being a bit over weight, they are healthy, friendly pets. Time is running out as the people fostering the dogs will not be able to continue after this month. Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated as I do not want to see these sweet dogs go to a shelter that may put them down. Thanks so much.
