HOW 25 TEENS EQUAL 400 FAMILIES A few months ago, Jeff Williamson, our Youth Pastor, shared a burden and vision of providing enough food for 400 families in Okmulgee county to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal. As with all great visions of burden, there were plenty of support components (steps to reality) which must be satisfied in order for the miracle of burden be achieved. Great faith is required along with a great plan, great people to participate in the plan and lastly a small matter of $10,000 needed to fund the vision. Enter Jeff Williamson, youth pastor, 25 HCN teens, youth sponsors, HCN church family and the Henryetta community. Almost 4 weeks ago the teens accepted the challenge of raising the $10,000 through a sponsorship plan. The teens would participate in a 30-hour fast, outdoors at the skate park, including sleeping in cardboard boxes (with trains going by every few hours). Each teen signed-up sponsors to pledge so much money for each hour of that teens 30-hour fast. After 3 plus weeks of gaining sponsors, 25 of HCNs teens fulfilled their commitment to the plan by fasting at the Henryetta skate park from last Saturday noon to 6 pm Sunday! By late Saturday evening the $10,000 goal was accomplished! Thank you, Jesus! A few days before Thanksgiving a Tractor-trailer rig from Feed The Children will be at Henryetta Football stadium loaded with food. Our teens, sponsors and others from the church will be there to unload and give 400 food boxes to 400 families of Okmulgee county. What a miracle! What a blessing of faith and God provision. Thank you Pastor Jeff, teens, sponsors and all who gave funds in Jesus name. So, now you know how 25 teens equal 400 families! Allow me to say again how blessed I am to be to be the pastor of the HCN family. Pastor Mike 365 YOUTH How can a person say thank you enough to a church family and community that has supported and encouraged us through everything. I am so proud of our teens for their sacrafice and passion foir this mission. I also want to say thank you to the sponsors that came and stayed the night and helped our and brought hot chocolate and everything. What an experience this has been, and the great thing is there is more to come. This week it is very important that we have all the sponsors money turned in no later than Sunday, October the 19th. It is my goal to bring a check to Feed The Children on Monday, October 20th so that we can have the truck here November 22nd for the week of Thanksgiving. Thank you again for everything -Jeff Williamson NEW COVENANT/MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION FIRST MEETING, SUNDAY, OCT. 19TH, 6 PM Over the next several weeks, I will be holding information meetings regarding the privileges and covenant responsibilities of what is known as church membership.
