Hitchcock asked Ms. Shevey to write an authorized biography because he feared inaccuracy and prejudice from Donald Spoto. Sandra Shevey has been guiding personally-conceived Alfred Hitchcock tours around New York and London since 1999 playing sound bites from a rare and intensely candid 3 hr interview. Sandra Shevey has spent the years intervening from the time of her interview with the director in interviewing those who worked with him including designers, camermen, collaborators etc. She lectures about Hitchcock at the National Portrait Gallery, the Barbican Cinema, the Westminister reference library and elsewhere.
