HOW DID I BECOME KRSNA CONSCIOUS? I realized it myself. I use to contribute articles " religious or whatever " to The Freeman in the late 80s. The editor-in-chief Juanito V. Jabat later gave me a shot or space in the paper`s Views & Comments Section. With Gaurasundara das ( George Martinez ) help lent me his 64 volumes of Srimad Bhagavatam, christened my column A GRAIN OF DEVOTION using a psuedonym Naradadeva Bhagavan. This column which came out from the paper regularly caused the Archbishop of Cebu Ricardo Cardinal Vidal suffer a heart attack. Fortunately the good Cardinal survived & underwent triple by-pass. The column was scrapped when Ed Balagtas of the Chaitanya Mission wrote a letter to the editor-in-chief Mr Jabat describing the writer of the column A GRAIN OF DEVOTION a charlatan. That was the end of my writing career or pastime. I was not into selling books or something to earn a living. I am a licensed Doctor of Medicine by profession.
