HOW I SPENT MY MORNING! (To the tune of Ridin The Storm Out) Walkin’ the storm out Lookin for the cows out On a rainy morning in an Appalachian summer Ran them up the hill But cows go where they will And I’m thinking lately of what I’m missing in the city (ha ha) And I’m not missing a thing (remind myself) Wishin I’d seen those cows cross the fence Walkin the storm out Walkin the storm out Cows went down the wrong trail Searched to no avail Got my son to take me back down to the start He got the 4-wheel ride Searched on the other side And I’m thinking lately of what I’m missing in the city And I’m not missing a thing Looking for cow piles crossing the weeds Walkin the storm out Walkin the storm out Cows know the 4wheeler sound Means food so they come around And follow my son back into the field I walk back up the hill Cows in! What a thrill! And I’m thinking what I’m missing not ridin the 4-wheeler And I’m missing getting in cows Watching them follow that sound in the fence (why was I) Walkin the storm out (while my son was) Ridin the storm out (we were) Ridin and Walkin when the cows got out!
