HOW IMPORTANT IS THE TITLE OF YOUR POEM? A few of our family - TopicsExpress

HOW IMPORTANT IS THE TITLE OF YOUR POEM? A few of our family members had this to say: I write most of my poems first before titling them. In fact I usually browse through the content of a piece and from it extrcat its title. Titles for me is like the dress, make up, jewellery and accesories on a beautiful, tall, elegant and regal woman. The woman (poem) is beautiful, but dress (title) her inappropriatelyor in old, unfashionable or tattered rags, and most will miss the fact that she is a beautiful woman. For only one or two would be lucky enough to see her undressed. ~Tijjani Muhammad Musa My first attraction to a write-up of any form is the title. So so important!!! If you cant get an attractive title, keep it, meditate on it and pray about it. It is that important. ~Emmanuel Emperortee Theophilus If any of you pick our old poems, youll notice that the titles are just too blank to magnet unlike poles, I mean, persons who originally have no flair for poetry. I had written pieces that I titled- Love, Jealous, and the likes. But that was when I was still a virgin to creative writing. Well, in so much as the body of a poem tells the personaes message, a compelling title would not only attract bees to that honey, it would also remain on the lips and hearts of your reader(s).
