HOW MUCH ADVERTISING IS TOO MUCH? AND FOR THE ADVERTISER IS IT WORTH THE BAD VIBES. Most people agree that ads along EDSA are both an eye sore and, esp the uber bright LED ads, very unsafe. The current campaigns of the MMDA to remove both the signboards and the bus wrap around stickers are evidence of this sentiment turning into policy. But the fact that advertisers still maintain their presence to the end makes one wonder ; does the brand feel that the visibility is worth the negative sentiment? It makes one wonder if advertisers and media buyers would buy adspace on a hangmans noose during public executions. Both advertiser and public have not yet seen the convergence of drop in sales to inappropriate and offensive ads and ad placements. Perhaps due to a lack of public education for public empowerment. Or maybe the ads have become so inundating to the point of invisibility. But in any case, it might be time to start campaigning against brands that allow placement for placements sake.", esp those that endanger motorists and civilians w their physical presence.
