HOW REALISTIC IS ACHIEVING THE NATION OF BIAFRA IN A NEW WORLD - TopicsExpress

HOW REALISTIC IS ACHIEVING THE NATION OF BIAFRA IN A NEW WORLD ORDER???? Is Biafran Sovereignty as pre-1966 still relevant? If so, where do these Bayelsan, Cross-River, Akwa-Ibom, Delta, Rivers stand in the present struggle? Obviously it is clear that Biafra has finally become loosened and many entities have carved a separate identity for themselves from the old Biafra Sovereignty, that they even mark and celebrate resistance against Biafra these days , not even the mammoth danger and mis-Governance from independence, that virtually pauperized the populace of these states and made them slaves to the oil that naturally flows in their backyard , a fact that stares them in the face, will make them a trusted ally!! Lets categorically state here that the Biafran cause, has ceased to be the cause of Adaka Boro, Effiong, Ojukwu and Ken Saro Wiwa(post humorously) as these persons clamped together in the Biafran enclave fought for similar ideals. There has recently emanated, damning voracious and ambiguous sentiments emboldened by human creation and re-creation of Geographic border lines more tended towards division of closely related people in known settings of tribes, culture and trade in an effort to weaken hegemony and resolve. How is the Urhobo and Ijaw, Ibibio or Calabari and Itshekiri more related with each other to be roped together in South-South? Is Arochukwu and Ibibio less related to each other than Ibibio and Itshekiri or Kalabari? Should we deny our links just for the daily bread and advantage that the Liquid Gold impresses on us? For how long more will the Igbos be segregated and confined, while we spread our arms in pretense that everybody around us is our brother? Should we, seeing that all our neighbours deny any affinity whatsoever with us and constantly rub it in, that we are not one and the same people, as new borders are redrawn along South-South and South-East definitions not come to terms with their intentions and redraw really, our own map and know who belongs to us and to whom we belong. The only noise makers about Biafra seems to be the Igbos of recent. This brings to question if we are not headed in ilusionary chase? Arewa is Hausa-Fulani, Oduduwa is Yoruba, now tell me what is the real Igbo Nation called? The igbo were not the only tribe that formed part of Biafra and hence can not solely claim Biafra, and it is high time we come together and rename the Igbo Nation as borders permit and inclusive of all igbo speaking areas regardless of what state in South-East or South-South such Towns may fall, especially since most of our co-travelers in the Biafra sovereignty prefer to be differently identified. The mention of Biafra as of today wields a big suspicion on the part of the indiginous South-South people, because they see the actualization of Biafra as a threat that will subject them once again to minority status as the single Igbo tribe of many other tribes will dominate. In present touted sovereignty of Biafra, The Black Gold will still be in the hand of a majority, while the minority resource producer will still be subjected to second fiddle in decision making - another makeshift Nigerian scenario once again plays out. The sort of Sunni-Shiite religious resource control exhibiting recently world over, will unleash itself in Biafra, such that Burundi, Liberia, Sierra-leone, Somalia, Sudan, Iraq and Syria will be paradise in comparisons to the gruesome acrimonious war that will bedevil our dear Biafra! The sole solution and adequately one, is for the Igbos to re-align their border along solely igbo speaking lines as the new sovereign entity for a newly named Igbo nation far away from anything known as Biafra, so as to permanently erase suspicions from the mind of Ogoni, Ijaw, Kalabari, Ibibio, Urhobo, Itshekiri and thereby resonate the essence of age-long trusted neighbours and relatives that we have always been, far beyond the King Jaja of Opobo produce merchant days! Igbo should forge a new direction regarding our Nationhood and view Biafra as part of our major history in a concerted effort to offload all the new uniformed bias heaped upon us the Igbo, leading from the Greed that has overtaken our fellow co-travelers in the Larger Biafran Cause! The Ogonis and ijaws were never part players of the Biafran cause, but rather took side as a saboteur with the Nigerian invaders and today the extension is South-South. Hence it is beyond just logic that Biafra is no longer one and there is cogent need for the Igbo nation to forge a complete new identity. Ohaneze is but a formative entity that needs to be injected with life and vigour and the onus falls on every igbo son, myself included!! Dalu nu!
