HOW SERIOUS IS YOUR QUEST FOR ETERNITY WITH CHRIST ? Most brethren - TopicsExpress

HOW SERIOUS IS YOUR QUEST FOR ETERNITY WITH CHRIST ? Most brethren keep saying that once saved by grace, no amount of good works can take you to heaven. This position is absolutely wrong. What is going to send most believers to hell is wrongly relying on our own carnal knowledge to interpret scriptures to suit our understanding and selfish expectations instead of the revelations by the Holy Spirit who knows the mind of God. Jesus Christ is the one to judge you and I; and He has given us the qualification to His kingdom; to love our brothers as He has loved us. He has asked us to love even our enemies. In Luke 6:32-36, He says; If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you. Even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you. Even sinners do that. But love your enemies, do good to them. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High because He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Jesus has set the standard even higher to the extent that, we need to work extra hard to qualify; loving your enemies is definitely higher standard. Eternity with Christ is all about righteousness to qualify. Please, listen to what Jesus, the judge, said in Matthew 5:20; For I say unto you, that except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the Scribes and pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of Heaven. John the Baptist, who Jesus described as the greatest among all the prophets born of woman, was sent to earth with one simple message; repentance of sins into righteousness, for the kingdom of God is near. When Jesus was on this earth, all His teachings were about repentance of sins into righteousness to remain in His love. Everything He said was about doing good, enduring hardships of all kinds for His name sake, without getting tired to the end, to enjoy eternity with Him. He never preached any other thing beside righteousness, holiness(LOVE). Whatever promises that we hold on to or misinterpret for lack of understanding should be viewed from the teachings of Christ; if its aligned with the teachings of MASTER JESUS, the judge Himself. To enjoy or continue to hope for eternity, listen and be guided by what Paul rightly said in 2 Cor. 7:11; Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and Spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God. If you still think youre well vexed in scriptures and understand so well as to hold a contrary view of good works to take you to heaven, read John 12:32 and tell me that everyone will go to heaven. John 12:32; Jesus speaking; But I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself. Does this mean that every one will go to heaven ? No. Its no, because we know from other scriptures that, there is hell and heaven. We also know that the gate to hell is bigger than that of heaven; and that most people will find the gate to hell more than heaven. This tells us that we should not try to understand scriptures just by face value. Therefore, every scripture we try to interpret should be, first, aligned with the teachings of Christ to be meaningful. Do not be deceived by any false doctrine, being complacent in doing good, but obey the commands of Jesus to the end. 1 Cor. 6:9-11 warns:Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God ? Do not be deceived. Even, the righteous has to work extra hard because in 1 Peter 4:18; it says, If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner ? So then, those who suffer according to Gods will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good. Good works pay. And now, for eternity with Christ; listen to Rom. 6:17-18; But thanks be to God that though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness. Rom.6;20; But now that you have been set free from sin, and have become slaves to God, the benifit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. This is the result we all aspire to have. In this position, the angels ministering spirits will be serving us, the saints; Heb.1:13-14. At this stage of eternity, well be ideally positioned to judge the world and the angels; 1Cor. 6:2-3. If were going to judge the world and angels with Christ; then we need to work extra hard. As were desirous to make it to eternity with Christ, its my humble prayer that, The Holy Spirit, empower us to continue in the faith without tiring, to the end, in Jesus name, amen.
