HOW TO AVOID EYEBROW PIERCING SCARS 1.Get your eyebrow pierced by somebody who knows what they are doing. This is always the first step in ensuring that problems dont occur. Check for top level sterilization, excellent technique, and knowledge of the industry 2.Be aware that eyebrow piercings tend to be impermanent and grow out naturally. The skin layers continue to replace themselves underneath your piercing and eventually the layer of your piercing becomes the top and outer layer and the piercing will drop out of its own accord after months or years. When you begin to notice that the jewelry is not surrounded by much skin anymore, or that the skin surrounding it reddened, blistered, or peeling, its time to aid nature by removing the piercing immediately. Not doing so risks the creation of a scar as your skin tries to compensate 3.Keep a piercing clean, both new, ongoing, and outgrowing. In all stages of your piercing, it is very important to keep the site clean and free of infection. This will help prevent any scarring. When the piercing is growing out, adding skin conditioning cream will help to sooth the skin and keep it supple as the hole seals up 4.Dont fiddle with your piercing. Picking at it, tearing it, or playing with it is not recommended. This can distort the shape and introduce infection and can create the potential for scarring. Dont get into a habit of touching it. 5.Get infections fixed immediately. See your health professional if the piercing becomes infected, to get treatment. Treated infections are less likely to result in complications and scarring.
