HOW TO CREATE AN ENVIRONMENT THAT WORKS It begins with you. decide in advance what you want, have clarity of purpose, outline your assumptions, question your assumptions, envision your future, make strategic plans (the purpose of strategic planning is to increase return on equity. the guiding principle of strategic planning and strategic thinking is to organize and reorganize the resources and strenght of the individual and organisation so as to produce the highest amount of quality and quantity of outputs relative to inputs). Strategic planning is an exercise in increasing return on energy. your greatest single asset is your winning ability-the total of the mental, emotional and physical energies that you can apply towards getting valuable results. anything that you can do to increase your return on energy invested will increase your overall levels of effectiveness and contribution in every area of your life especially in your work. TWO THINGS YOU CAN DO TO IMMEDIATELY INCREASE YOUR RETURN ON ENERGY AND EQUITY...1-think about everything that you are doing in terms of financial return to the organization or in terms of its impact by the organization. what are the things you do that yield the highest return on equity? whatever they are, do more of them...2-think in personal terms about the things you do that give you the highest return on energy. where do you contribute the greatest value and achieve the greatest satisfaction? whatever they are, do more of them... study yourself, examine yourself. what are those things you do that produce result, DO MORE OF THEM.
